Lynette's Short Ribs Recipe
Short ribs in our life were "meh" until we tried this recipe that Nate at the Big Creek farm shared with us. His wife Lynette is onto something here!

As a family-owned farm, we take pride in fostering warm and meaningful connections with our community - and that includes introducing you to our friends. Meet Lynette, a close friend and fellow farmer who has been a source of inspiration and comfort to us for years. In this post, we're excited to share with you her mouthwatering short rib recipe that's perfect for any cozy gathering.
Lynette's recipe is all about using fresh, farm-to-table ingredients to create a wholesome and comforting meal that everyone will love. Starting with our own grass-fed beef, she combines it with aromatic vegetables, savory spices, and a splash of red wine to create a rich and flavorful stew that's sure to warm your heart.
4lbs of Creamery Creek Dry-Aged Short Ribs
1tsp salt
1tsp pepper
3 cups beef broth
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp garlic power
1 tsp onion powder
1 sprig rosemary.
Season ribs with salt and pepper. Heat skillet on high heat and sear ribs on all 4 sides for about 60 seconds per side.
Pour beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic and onion powder in slow cooker. Stir. Place ribs into the liquid in slow cooker. Place rosemary spirg on the top of meat. Cook on low 6-8 hours until meat is tender.
At our farm, we believe in sustainable and ethical farming practices, and Lynette shares those values. Like us, she takes care to ensure that her beef is sourced from animals that are well-treated and healthy, providing the best possible beef for her dishes.
But the story behind this recipe isn't just about farming - it's also about the bonds we form through food and the memories we create around the table. In Lynette's case, this recipe has been passed down through generations of her family, each one adding their own special twist and making it their own.
We hope that you'll feel like part of our extended family as you try out Lynette's recipe and share your experiences with us. Food is our love language, and we're excited to share it with you. So, gather 'round the table and indulge in some delicious short ribs with us!
xoxo, Louisa

The Church Method for Perfect Beef Roasts
There is a whole world of cooking that never made it into cookbooks. It lives in church basements and community halls where somebody’s aunt has been feeding a crowd for decades and never once owned a digital thermometer. The “church basement method” is simple. Multiply the weight of your roast by time, set the oven to a steady low heat, and follow one important rule. Don’t peek.
It works with everyday beef roasts like sirloin tip, chuck, rump, and top round, which means you do not need a prime rib to put something special on the table.
